The ambitious year-long SWLA Massingham Heath Project concluded with a final residency in April. More than thirty artists documented the wildlife and landscape of restored heathland and meadows on visionary landowner Olly Birkbeck’s regenerative farm in west Norfolk. Their 600-plus works, many created directly from life, provided a rich selection for inclusion in the project book. Author and naturalist Nick Acheson shared the artists’ creative year and brings it vividly to life, weaving together the stories of the land, its restoration by Olly, the art and the wildlife. This Healing Heath will launch at The Natural Eye at Mall Galleries on 30^th September and is available to pre-order now.
