The Natural Eye 2022

The Natural Eye is the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists. Now marking its 59th year, this renowned exhibition displays over 300 works from both members and non-members including paintings, drawings, original prints and sculptures all of which take their inspiration from the natural world.

The show always celebrates the diversity of life on the planet and our artists have been busy collecting images and portraying encounters from Africa to the Arctic as well as our home shores.

Following the tradition of observing from life, the Out of the Frame room will share fieldwork made by SWLA artists who visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Denmark in May for the second part of the SWLA Wadden Sea Project. The SWLA has partnered with The National Park Vadehavet to document and celebrate this extraordinary area of islands and wetlands. There will also be a display of work from our SWLA Bursary winners who attended the John Busby Seabird Drawing Course in Scotland.

In the last twelve months the SWLA has lost two influential and much-loved members — Robert Gillmor MBE and John Paige — and there will be tribute displays for both artists.

If you are unable to visit view works online or take the virtual tour.
