The bursary funded my research visit to Bulgaria’s Black Sea Coast, Via Pontica, during spring migration, 2007.
This was a research visit to observe, draw and make notes in preparation for my BA degree show. Migration was an installation comprising a handmade vitrine which appropriated migration research (both first hand and other acquired) in the form of drawings, installation and light. Five paintings made in the field in Bulgaria accompanied the vitrine.
