SWLA 2012 Curwen Studio Prize

The SWLA is thrilled to announce a new opportunity for exhibiting artists at The Natural Eye 2012. The artist awarded the Curwen Studio Prize is given a day at the renowned studio working with one of their printmakers exploring the options available within lithographic original printmaking. The value of the prize is £1000 and covers the cost of the day and includes all materials along with the opportunity to show a finished lithograph at the Curwen’s partnership gallery, Church Street Gallery in Saffron Walden. A selected lithograph will also be displayed at The Natural Eye 2013 which will be the 50th Anniversary of the SWLA. The winner will be selected from the 2012 exhibition by a representative of the Curwen Studio and two senior members of the SWLA.

Established in 1958 the Curwen Studio has recently changed hands and is now owned by Jenny Roland, daughter of co-founder Robert Simon, along with partners Nicole Langstaff who has been associated with the studio for the past ten years, and Jill Hutchings owner of the Curwen and New Academy galleries.
