Roland Green – A Tribute
Roland Green, Barnacle Geese
Roland Green (1890 – 1972) was one of Britain’s most accomplished wildlife artists from the 1920s onwards. Living on the Norfolk coast at Hickling Broad, he specialised in drawing and painting birds, illustrating many books on the subject. A founder member of the SWLA this exhibition celebrates his unique place in British wildlife painting with a selection of watercolours and oils.
To put Green’s work in a contemporary context several painters and printmakers from the Society have been invited to show their work alongside Green. Members participating are: Carry Akroyd, Kim Atkinson, Victoria Edwards, Robert Gillmor, Robert Greenhalf, Andrew Haslen, Peter Partington, Nik Pollard, Andrew Stock and Esther Tyson.
